She was loud, annoying and didn’t seem to have any chance of doing something notable without being pushed into it. Then, I saw some more episodes and I realized that she wasn’t just some bright-eyed wanderer who wanted the doctor to romance her. She was a woman who had had enough of everyone dumping on her and was more than happy to tell The Doctor when he was being stupid…which was a lot. I’m not saying Donna is the best companion ever, but she was what The Doctor needed at the time.
